The way you log on to Blackboard has changed

The Single Sign On project aims to simplify the way you log on to University IT systems.

Since August 2012 you have no longer had to remember a separate password for Blackboard, but can log in with the same username and password that you use to access the Portal, or your University email.

Even better, from May 2013, if you are already logged in to the Portal, you can access Blackboard without having to enter your details again.

What differences will I see?

When you go to you are now taken to the Portal login page.

Enter your normal UWL username and password here (the same details you use to access your University email) and you will be taken through to Blackboard.

If you have already logged on to the Portal at then you won't need to log on again, but will be taken straight to the Blackboard home page.

What is my username and password?

Your username is still your student ID number, as printed on your student ID card
(the number just above the barcode, next to the words ‘ID No.’)

You now have one password which gives you access to email, the Portal, PebblePad, computers in the Library, and Library e-resources.

Only My Registry requires you to remember a separate password.

What if I can't remember my password?

There is a new self service system which allows you to change your password - see
